Our story

How we got our start?
A simple idea with a simple goal. The world of hardware can be daunting to anyone not in-the-trade and, even for those in the trade, it can be hard to find what you need quickly. There's thousands of fasteners, fixings, and tools out there, all with specific uses., but finding them can be difficult.
What makes our product unique?
The typical home DIY job doesn't require 2000 screws, and the average tradesman doesn't want to carry around 1000's of everything "just in case" (trust us, they're surprisingly heavy). So we also offer all our range in small, convenient, quantities which are usually just enough to get the job done.
Why we love what we do?
As a wholly UK-based (fully VAT Registered) company, sourcing all supplies amp; services only from other UK amp; EU registered companies we can ensure that the standards throughout our supply-chain are as high as possible. At the same time, we're contributing to the economy and providing valuable UK jobs.

Product Description

Nuts

A fastener with a threaded hole, used in conjunction with a matching bolt / machine screw to fasten multiple parts together. The parts are kept together by a combination of their threads' friction (including a slight elastic deformation), and compression of the parts to be held together.

Variants

"tr" "td" "span" Standard sized hexagonal nuts for use in the majority of applications. "tr" "td" "span" Also known as "Jam" nuts these are thinner than standard hex nuts. Although they can be used alone they are also often used to double-lock a fastener in combination with other nuts. "tr" "td" "span" Standard Nuts with an integral nylon ring that deforms when fitted to provide extra grip and prevent loosening without tools. "tr" "td" "span" Standard Hex Nuts but with extra points on the surface to which welds can be placed for a permanent attachment. "tr" "td" "span" Also known as "Pal" nuts. A very thin type of nuts that can be used in tight spaces and deforms on use to lock in place. "tr" "td" "span" Typical Hex nuts that include an integrated washer (flange) that helps increase the surface grip area. The flange can be plain (smooth) or serrated (which provides even more grip).
"span" Hex Nuts
"span" Lock Nuts
"span" Nylon Insert Nuts (Nyloc)
"span" Weld Nuts
"span" Counter Nuts
"span" Flange Nuts
"tr" "td" "span" These nuts act similarly to those with a nylon insert but without the nylon ring. They deform slightly on fitting to lock in place but can be used in higher temperature applications. "tr" "td" "span" Nuts with a squared outer-edge (usually with rounded / chamfered corners). "tr" "td" "span" Nuts that can be fastened by hand that have wings / ears to aid turning. Commonly used for applications where the fixing has to be regularly removed. "tr" "td" "span" Mainly used in woodwork and furniture to provide a threaded socket in a pre-drilled hole. The tines bite in to the wooden surface during fitting to provide a strong connection. "tr" "td" "span" Sometimes known as 'Acorn' nuts these are used to both lock fasteners in place and provide a more finished (rounded) appearance for protruding threads.
"span" All-Metal Self-Locking
"span" Square Nuts
"span" Wing Nuts
"span" Tee Nuts
"span" Dome Nuts
Cap Nuts Similar to dome nuts but with a lower profile and less rounded finish.

Materials

Stainless (A1-303) A slightly softer Stainless Steel commonly found in small machined parts.

Stainless (A4-306) A more advanced type of Stainless Steel that is suitable for direct contact with salt-water (Sometimes known as 'Marine Grade').
Aluminium A non-magnetic metal that's very light and will not rust.
"tr" "td" "span" An alloy of copper and zinc. Softer than steel but water resistant and anti-corrosive so ideal for outdoor / marine purposes. "tr" "td" "span" An un-coated metal suitable for most internal applications (Also known as Self-Coloured) "tr" "td" "span" A lightweight alternative to metals with greater insulation properties.
